Images and words interacting

Below is a couple of my favorite illustrators, illustrating some of my favorite authors. What I find interesting about to words and images interacting or any two media collaborating, is the new meanings they create and the inspiration they feed from each other. At best images can make the story more interesting and bring it into life on completely another level.
